Rebuilding Together Arlington Fairfax Falls Church Inc

Rebuilding Together Arlington/Fairfax/Falls Church (RTAFF) is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization that serves low-income homeowners and non-profit organizations in our community by providing critically needed home repairs and modifications.  Our volunteers make homes safe and healthy, and they help seniors age in place. We give special priority to seniors, people living with disabilities, families with children and veterans.

RTAFF is committed to helping local community residents who have worked hard throughout their lives to own and maintain their homes, but now due to illness, the loss of a spouse, aging, and/or economic hardships, are unable to continue with the upkeep of their homes.  Many live in homes that were built more than 50 years ago and simple repair problems left unattended oftentimes escalate into larger problems that expose homeowners and their families to health and safety risks.

Community groups provide donated skilled and unskilled labor.  Each group identifies team leaders who are skilled in home repairs and then trained by RTAFF in project management.  Volunteer groups are matched to a project, based on the size and skill level of the group. 

Many of the participating groups work on National Rebuilding Day, which occurs the last weekend of April as part of a nationwide effort.  Expanded opportunities are also available for community groups and individuals wishing to work on Rebuilding Together projects throughout the year and for individual community members to volunteer through our handyperson corps. 

Rebuilding Together-AFF is an affiliate of Rebuilding Together, Inc. This national nonprofit has supported safe and healthy housing for over 40 years. Rebuilding Together’s local affiliates and nearly 100,000 volunteers complete about 10,000 rebuild projects nationwide each year.
