Idaho Gives

Recreation Unlimited is proud to be participating in Idaho Gives and telling our story.   Our goal is to get families participating together on the ski hill through teaching adaptive ski and snowbard lessons.  This goal has also brought instructors to Recreation Unlimited.  We have parents and siblings involved in instructing their loved ones and other students.

We have two goals this year for fundraising.  The first is to add funds to the newly dedicated Gary Reedy Scholarship Fund.  This money goes directly to pay for student lessons and equipment rentals.   The second goal is to increase the number of instructors with PSIA/AASI Adaptive, Alpine and Snowboard certifications.  This money will cover clinic and exam fees for instructors and help pay their professional membership dues.

Recreation Unlimited

Recreation Unlimited is the adaptive ski and snowboard program at Bogus Basin for children and adults with physical and/or developmental disabilities.

Students are provided individual assessment, ski or board instruction, and the use of specialized equipment which allows them to fully participate in the thrill and freedom of winter recreation.

The program offers lessons for a range of ability levels, from the first-time skier or rider to the intermediate and advanced skier or rider.

We offer ski and snowboard instruction for:

• People with visual and/or hearing impairments

• People with developmental disabilities

• People with limited or no usage of upper/lower limbs

Our trained volunteer instructors are familiar with the challenges that physical, neuromuscular and developmental impairments present. We offer a safe and exciting experience tailored to the student’s needs and designed to make the most of their abilities.
