Red Rock Search and Rescue

A nonprofit organization

$1,136 raised by 20 donors

Red Rock Search and Rescue was formed in 2012 on the fly after a fellow hiker, Ron Kirk went missing inside the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area.  Clark County citizens came by the hundreds to help search for Ron. Most of these people had no search and rescue training or experience.

In response, the founding members of Red Rock Search and Rescue came together to organize and train a full time on-call Search and Rescue (SAR) Team available to serve all of Clark County and surrounding areas. We now have a branch in St. George, Utah as well.

Four short years later, the team has evolved into a passionate, highly trained and skilled organization. We also serve as the National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR) Western Regioin Training Center.

During 2015 alone, the Team provided over 30,114 hours of training and deployment on over 59 missions at no cost to Southern Nevada taxpayers. We rely entirely on donations and grants from our members and those we serve for all operational expenses and insurance.

We hope you never need us; but if you do, know we are here for you 24/7/365 days a year, at no charge.
