The Northern Nevada American Red Cross chapter area covers 87,000 square miles with a population of more than 670,000 people. Our chapter territory is from Tonopah north, with our main chapter in Reno and branch offices in Elko, Incline Village and Winnemucca.

Day-in and day-out, the American Red Cross responds to human needs in our community that no other organization does. Moreover, it is an organization that is trusted like few others in the world. People, whether they have lived here all their lives or have just arrived from another country, know the Red Cross as a symbol of hope and help. Red Cross assistance includes:

-Preventing newly homeless families from having to live on the street

-Sending urgent messages across the globe to a family member in a country where there has been a major earthquake or other disaster

-Providing a family with emergency food and shelter and helps them replace eye glasses and vital prescription medicines lost when their home burned

-Advocating for local military families facing emergency financial crises

-Providing young people with potentially life-saving emergency skills and helping them develop leadership capabilities

-Providing children and preschoolers with health & safety lessons regarding – proper hand washing and what to do in case of fire in their home

-Training prospective lifeguards in water safety and lifesaving techniques

The Red Cross provides all of its humanitarian services free of charge. Recipients are never asked to repay what they have received. We can do this because of people like you who support the American Red Cross with their financial contributions.
