Your Donation makes an impact on our community. We hope to inspire you to GIVE and make a real difference:

CHILDREN AND YOUTH PROGRAMS:

Help us move 250+ students off of a wait list and into After-School Programs that keep them engaged, excited and interested in learning: Redwood City’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Community Services provides after-school care and educational support for nearly 1,100 elementary and middle school children each school day, but they have a wait list of over 250 students. With more dollars we can help more students who would benefit from afterschool services.

Your donations are critical to help eliminate the wait list and provide this great After-School Program for our students.

Help us permanatly re-open Hoover Pool: Redwood City a community of over 75k residents and has two public pools, Herkner Pool at Red Morton Park and Hoover Pool adjacent to Hoover School in the underserved Woodside/101 neighborhood. Due to City budget cuts, Hoover Pool had been closed for three summers and for the past two years has been reopened through a community partnership. Help us keep Hoover Pool open year round which would provide pool access to all of our residents in the area--young and old alike.

Your donation can help us keep Hoover Pool open year round.

Help Light our Sports fields and Increase Access to recreation and fun for all: Redwood City has 22 sports fields available for organized sports play for over a dozen organizations with nearly 12,000 youth participants. There is a demand for more access to sports fields. Compared to surrounding cities, Redwood City has fewer sports fields available with 1.19 sports fields per 10,000 population. In an effort to increase organized sports play on the limited number of fields; 7 fields have synthetic turf and 5 have lighting which extends the hours of use.

Your donation will light more fields, and convert more fields to synthetic turf to better serve our youth sports programs.

ART, CULTURAL AND COMMUNITY EVENTS:

Help Enrich, Beautify and Engage our Community through Public Art: Art not only beautifies a community, it engages our residents, encourages dialogue, and fosters a sense of community. Support our Public Art Programs.

Your donation helps us to:

  • Transform Utility Boxes from dull gray boxes to distinctive and beautiful works of art
  • Create murals on downtown buildings
  • Support local artists at Art on the Square and Art in the Park
  • Continue our NEW Chalk Full of Fun chalk art festival which encourages everyone to be an â€œartist for a day"

Help Keep the FREE Summer Music & Movie Events Going for over 100k attendees: Redwood City has an amazing jam packed summer entertainment calendar. Our city organizes free summer events for the community, including a variety of concerts and movies at Courthouse Square, and music in several local parks. These free events are enjoyed by over 100k people each year, and are funded by generous donations from corporate and private patrons, in addition to individual contributions from people like you.

Your donation keeps these popular summer events free for all to enjoy.

Help Community Advocacy Through Art: Community Advocacy Through Art, or CATA, is a new project of the Redwood City Parks and Arts Foundation. Project CATA leverages street art murals to bring awareness and financial sponsorship to community needs. With the support of local artists, businesses, nonprofits and public organizations, Project CATA will both beautify our community and address important issues such as homelessness, affordable housing and environmental conservation.
