$17,000 Goal

The Resilience, Education, Training, and Innovation (RETI) Center was born in Red Hook, Brooklyn after Super Storm Sandy devastated our neighborhood. Disasters hit the most vulnerable the hardest, and we started RETI Center to help our low-income communities adapt to the biggest risks we face. The global epidemic, lack of food, extreme heat, flooding, and rising sea levels all threaten our community.

To cope with these difficult new times, we must improve the natural environment, while also helping our neighbors be safer and more prepared for imminent threats. Our response is to pursue the dream of the Green New Deal, bringing together our public school children and their families, our local leaders, architects, engineers, and scientists with a new vision for equality and justice.

We're building BlueCity on the water's edge, a floating industrial district as a vision of a more sustainable future, tethered to our community, benefiting all of us.
