Revive Ministries Inc DBA Horizon Recovery and Counseling Center/The Unity Houses

Revive Ministries Inc. is a nonprofit organization incorporated in the state of Nebraska. The corporation is organized for the purpose of providing Christian support, education and encouragement through counseling, education and transitional housing activities for those in need. Revive Ministries Inc. currently conducts an alcohol/drug counseling and outpatient rehabilitation center with counseling. Participants are provided Christian Counseling and treatment through both individual and group sessions. Sessions are conducted by contracted, licensed mental health providers for specific sessions based on the needs of patient participants. Revive Ministries Inc. also has other paid staff to oversee the day-to-day operations of the facility and needs of the patients. Revive Ministries Inc. receives referrals from doctors, hospitals, judicial system, counselors, treatment centers etc. Patient’s length of time participating in the program can vary due to the wide range of circumstances and needs of the patients participating. Each individual participant is treated as such and given help as needed. Patients who successfully pass a rehabilitation program qualify for Revive Ministiries Inc. “Sober Living” transitional housing. The Board of Directors oversees the staff of counselors and contract laborers as well as the overall implementation of this activity.

Revive Ministries Inc. operates three homes capable of housing up to 31 individuals. Revive, Inc. provides clean, sober living space for individuals to live while participating in Revive Ministries Inc. rehabilitation and counseling treatment programs. Participants who stay in the housing program successfully for a minimum of six months then receive a rebate of $25 per month off their housing fee. Individual counseling sessions are an additional $25 per month charged to participants. Participants are charged a $300 housing fee per month. This fee covers the cost of shelter services provided by Revive Ministries, Inc. Unlike other programs that increase rent as income increases, rental fees will not go up based on income, thereby allowing participants to save money while continuing to get treatment and counseling until they become financially stable enough to find affordable housing on their own.

A youth who was 16 years old came to us about a year ago. This youth had been addicted to methamphetamine and marijuana for over two years. The father of this youth is in recovery and referred his son to us. The mother of this youth is also local but is using methamphetamine. This young man was very engaged in his recovery program and has become a leader in the group. He completed the 6-week Intensive Outpatient Treatment program and the Aftercare/Continuing Care program. He has joined some extracurricular activities at his high school. One of his favorite activities is the high school wrestling team where he was good enough to be on the varsity. He has also developed a video about how meth disrupts lives. He has provided this video through Youtube. Someone from the Kearney area who promotes these videos professionally has pursued this young man to promote the video national. I have viewed this video and it is very well done. I can see a great future for this young man as he has become an advocate for recovery with his peers.
