Creative Arts: The Beating Heart of Our Community

Richland Academy of the Arts is a group of like-minded individuals who have come together to further the lives of our community through education, training, and performance within the arts. Through achievements, opportunities for growth, and performance, our students do not only learn artistic skills but life skills. And what's more, we invite the entire community of all ages to experience and participate in the benefits of the arts.

Our mission is to foster, through artistic expression, the creative potential that exists in everyone to enrich the lives of our neighbors, our community, and the world at large.

Building a Stronger Community Through Arts Education

Here at Richland Academy of the Arts, we provide exceptional extracurricular arts education to area community members. Through arts education, our students obtain deep-rooted life skills. These life skills are transferred to our Richland County community and developed throughout their lives, including personal relationships and professional careers. 

Exceptional Experiences - Exceptional Education

This year, the money you donate will fund The Neil A. Doerman Endowed Scholarship Fund, General Fund, or a Departmental Fund you choose. All of these funds are crucial to keep the arts alive in your community. Our Neil A. Doerman Endowed Scholarship Fund helps those with financial need attend Richland Academy of the Arts General Fund and Departmental Fund strengthen the foundation of Richland Academy to provide distinctive opportunities for our students to grow and flourish within our facility and beyond. The General Fund and Departmental Fund also allow us to maintain a safe and professional environment for our students to experience. 

Last year, The Neil A. Doerman Endowed Scholarship Fund provided $20,694 in tuition assistance while supporting 91 students. One way to display these funds is through a single student. As a 10-year-old individual, they have been attending Richland Academy for four years. They currently attend four classes and are active in four of our five departments. In addition to the use of our building, they have also received The Neil A. Doerman Endowed Scholarship for three of the four years they have attended Richland Academy to help them continue their education within the arts.

Your gift creates possibilities for those in our community who desire quality arts education but do not have the funds to participate. When community members come with the desire to grow alongside their peers but do not have the capacity to do so, The Endowed Neil Doerman Scholarship Fund allows for their participation within Richland Academy. 

Your gift to the General Fund and Departmental Fund keeps our programming ALIVE. Gifts to these funds provide a flexible source for Richland Academy to continue to instill excellence within our community through exceptional experiences and education. These funds allow us to take experiences outside our walls and into our community through programming such as Mansfield Public Library's Story Hour, OSU Community Involvement Fair, Mansfield Family Festival, and the Renaissance Theater's Movies on the Plaza.
