What do we do?

Rim Country Friends of Ferals (RCFF) works with feral cat colony caregivers to Trap, Neuter and Return (TNR) ferals and free-roaming domestic stray cats.

Services

  • Assistance with humane trapping
  • Transportation to and from the Veterinary clinic.
  • Spaying/Neutering
  • Rabies shot
  • Tipped left ear to show the cat has been TRN'd
  • Assisting colony caregivers with cat food

TNR Facts

  • RCFF has TNR'd over 2,500 cats since 2005.
  • Killing all the cats in a colony DOES NOT solve the problem. More cats WILL move back in. This is called the "vacuum effect".
  • TRN'ing all the cats in a colony DOES work. When 90-100% of all colony cats are TNR'd, the colony decreases through natural attrition.
  • Feral cats are as healthy as domestic free-roaming cats. When they are in a well-managed colony, they can expect lifespans comparable to free-roaming domestic cats.

What do we need?

Donations!!!!!!
TNR is expensive, averaging $55 per cat.
RCFF offers these services to anyone willing and able to look after a feral cat colony. Many colony managers cannot bear the expense of TNR. They give what they can. The rest of the cost comes from generous donors like you. Please join in the success RCFF has had in reducing the Rim Country's feral and free-roaming cat population with your donations.
