Rim Family Services Inc

Since 1991, Rim Family Services has provided the highest quality mental health and substance abuse counseling services and family strengthening programs for our Rim Communities residents.  All monies raised through Give Big will be utilized to support these vital services.

Rim Family Services, Inc. is a community-based 501 (c)(3) non-profit corporation.  It was originally named Rim Communities Against Substance Abuse (RCASA) and was incorporated in 1992.  Our founding Board consisted of Rim of the World Unified School District Board members and concerned community members who wanted services for youth and families at risk.  In 1996 the name was changed to Rim Family Services, Inc. (RFS) to better reflect our mission - Provide the Highest Quality Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling Services and Family Strengthening Programs for our Rim Communities Residents

Our overall vision is: “Preserving our families . . . Strengthening our communities”.  This vision is what we look to as a guide when developing new programs and services or when evaluating existing ones.  The vision is at the core of all we do at RFS.

Rim Family Services, Inc. has been providing science and evidence-based programs for all client demographics in our mountain communities since our founding.  Programs include but are not limited to; science-based curriculum targeting K-12 and TAY (Transitional Age Youth), evidence-based parenting programs (Parents as Teachers and Strengthening Families Program), prevention and mental health community nights (workshops), youth programs designed to build positive skills and social supports, adult life-skills education, Outpatient Alcohol and Other Drug Treatment, Recovery Center, Student Assistance Program, Family Resource Center, and counseling/therapy services offered to all age groups (children, TAY, adults, and older adults).

In total, RFS currently has seventeen (17) programs funded by fifteen (15) different contracts.  We also have three (3) client fee-based programs.  Increased funding will enhance our ability to meet the needs of families in our mountain communities.
