Rising Stars Therapeutic Riding Center Inc

Headquartered outside of Twin Falls, Rising Stars Therapeutic Riding Center uses the horse as a tool to provide equine facilitated therapies (hippotherapy) and activities (therapeutic riding) to people with disabilities throughout the south central Idaho area.  As we enter our 7th season offering services we will be serving approximately 95 people weekly during the summer of 2015. 

 

Rising Stars serves both children and adults with a variety of challenges including but not limited to; autism, cerebral palsy, MS, Down Syndrome, developmental delay, traumatic brain injury, and ADHD.  Equine assisted activities are noted for increasing the physical, mental, emotional and developmental capabilites of individuals with disabilities and medical issues of many kinds. 

Volunteers and staff at Rising Stars are constantly amazed at the things we see take place with these children and adults on horseback.  Therapist claim that they see patients do things on horseback that they never do in the clinic, and many of us have witnessed the miracle of increased vocabulary, improved core strength and balance, improved gait and walking independance and so much more.

Rising Stars operates off of grants, private and business donations, and proceeds from our annual fundraiser.  We use about 150 volunteer hours a week, and fully recognize that none of this would be possible without our donors and volunteers!
