River Des Peres Watershed Coalition

We connect people to River des Peres, its tributaries and the watershed by engaging volunteers and communities to join in litter cleanups, water quality monitoring activities and habitat restoration. Our community outreach includes education on ways to improve the health of streams and advocacy for better water quality. River des Peres Watershed Coalition is a stream team association in St. Louis, Missouri with groups of stream teams that make a bigger impact by coordinating projects that improve the adopted streams in the watershed.

River des Peres Watershed Coalition has spent over 19,000 hours of volunteer service to the watershed involving over 4,500 volunteers. Trash Bash volunteers in the last two decades have removed more than 101 tons of trash from the watershed which keeps the waterways clean and prevents litter from reaching the Mississippi River. Over 200 volunteers have participated in water quality monitoring in the watershed and the data from these efforts helps us to identify problem areas and advocate for healthy streams. Our volunteers have spent over 390 hours in educational events that reach the community to promote best practices for improving water quality.
