Riverside Stem Academy Ptsa

Riverside STEM Academy has Students who Love to Learn, and Teachers who are passionate about teaching!  Riverside STEM Academy is a public school with an emphasis on science, technology, engineering and mathematics.  More than that, the Riverside STEM Academy provides an environment where students are encouraged to explore, innovate and problem solve!  Because it is a school of choice within the Riverside Unified School District, students enter through a lottery system.  

The Riverside STEM Academy sits on a former elementary campus.  Because Riverside STEM Academy presently serves 5th through 10th grades, with plans to extend through 12th grade, the RUSD board and school administration are actively developing plans to create a unique campus to meet the growing needs of Riverside STEM Academy.

 Our vision for Riverside STEM Academy includes science, engineering and technology labs, innovation and workshop rooms, cutting edge lab equipment, software and hardware; all of this on top of cutting edge curriculum programs.  Our desire is to also provide an arts program including band, choir, visual and media arts to broaden the developing creativity and communication of the students, as well as grow the already impressive list of enrichment programs by way of academic teams and clubs offered at Riverside STEM Academy.

Our students require many programs which exceed RUSD funding in order to prepare them to be our next generation scientist, technologists, entrepreneurs, engineers, doctors and leaders in our great community!

Our current needs include: books for our library and the classrooms, basic lab equipment, educational field trip transportation, science camp expenses, and materials and equipment for enrichment programs.

Who are the great students of Riverside STEM Academy?  The 2012-2013 SARC Report reveals the following:

• 29% of RSA are Socioeconomically Disadvantaged, with an API of 943 compared to State at 743;
• 4.33% of RSA are English Learners with an API of 918 compared to State at 721;
• 5.3% of RSA are Students with Disabilities, with an API of 955 compared to State at 615;
• 7.5% of RSA ar African American, with an API of 958 compared to State at 708;
• 8.0% are Asian, with an API of 993 compared to State at 906;
• 30.6% are Hispanic or Latino with an API of 954 compared to State at 744;
• 48.0% are white with an API of 986 compared to State at 853.
