The Organization

The Robert ONeal Multicultural Arts Center (ROMAC) is a 501c3  not-for-profit organization established in 2019

The Mission

The mission of ROMAC is to celebrate, advance, and preserve African/African American culture and achievement through arts, history, and education while uplifting the rich diversity of artists and cultures represented by Greater Cincinnati's residents of color.

The Vision

To restore and revitalize the historic Regal Theater located at 1201 Linn Street in the West End community into a multicultural creative hub where art, commerce, and hospitality converge.

The Project

The ROMAC's new home at the Regal theater will be the City's first African American and multicultural art center. The project is slated to be completed by 2024 /early 2025 with an estimated cost of $22.9 million, including a building expansion.

The Need for the Project

Historically, there has been a gap in the support, preservation, and promotion of African American history, Black art, Black and Indigenous People of Color (BIPOC) creatives, and women in the arts.   Since the closure of the Arts Consortium of Cincinnati in 2009, many artists have been left without resources and opportunities in the City to grow and expand.   The ROMAC will address this significant gap in our region's progressive arts community. The ROMAC will bring vibrancy to the West End and the City by adding jobs and opportunities for young people, artists, and residents. Now more than ever, we need your support in investing in building community, celebrating diversity, and encouraging creativity.
