Poverty isn’t a single problem. It’s a malnourished baby. A 13-year-old mother-to-be. A family of five without a home or healthcare. It’s a series of overlapping issues that feed upon each other. Our philosophy is simple: to significantly affect people living in poverty you have to attack its root causes. That’s why Robin Hood focuses on poverty prevention through programs in early childhood, youth, education, jobs and economic security. And, because we can’t turn our backs on those living and suffering in poverty, we also fund basic survival programs in healthcare, hunger, housing and domestic violence. Poverty is complicated, but there are people in our city who understand the complexities and tackle the problems head-on, every day. Robin Hood finds those people, partners with them, and gets them the resources they need to succeed. Learn more about Robin Hood-supported programs and the issues they address through our portfolios.
