Rocky Mountain Neptunes

Manu Ghaffari and Nicholas Games founded Rocky Mountain Neptunes (RMN) in February 2011 in an effort to grow the sport with in the state of Colorado.  Manu worked hard to have a club of his own. RMN first started with 6 players and now, in 18 months, we almost have 50 players registered. Thanks to everyone who has been working hard to recruit and retain these players.

Over the past year, RMN has attended many tournaments such as: Rock-tober, Winterfest, Grier Invitational, Zone Age Group Championships and Junior Olympics. In 2011, RMN initiated the Grier Invite to recognize the contributions of the late Grier Laughlin to the promotion of water polo in Colorado.

In October 2011, RMN hosted the first ever Rock-tober national event for 12& under for both boys and girls. USAWP awarded the contract to RMN again for 2012.

Our growth is astounding. We took two teams to Winterfest in February 2012. Then in June for the first time, RMN took two teams to Zone Champs in Utah and we took both a girls and a boy’s team for a very exciting trip to Stanford, California for Junior Olympics.

RMN is now hosting its first ever Banquet and Awards night in celebration of a great first year for the club and its athletes.

We are trying to raise funds to help grow and develop water polo within our state. Every little bit helps!
