$50,000 Goal

The Flatbush Leadership Academy strives to groom and support potential male leaders 16-24 years old, residing in the Central Brooklyn through personal growth, professional development and mentorship. We provide each participant with training to create a more socially conscious, goal oriented, and responsible young adult.

The Academy meets  Saturdays, 12pm - 2pm and occasionally when school is not in session.

HISTORY OF FLATBUSH LEADERSHIP ACADEMY

The Flatbush Leadership Academy was envisioned after the fatal police involved shooting of 16-year old Kimani Gray in East Flatbush, Brooklyn.  Kimani’s death resulted in monumental unorganized protests, particularly by community youth. In the wake of the protest, it was realized that youth had the potential to become positive leaders, if given the resources and opportunity. The Flatbush Leadership Academy provides a space for community youth voices, cultivate their leadership and in turn reduce youth violence in the community through access.

Flatbush Leadership Academy is offered to the community by the 67th Precinct Clergy Council, Inc. “The GodSquad” in partnership with Rohan Levy Foundation.
