The Rolfe Foundation began in 1999, when the friends and family of Michael Rolfe, moved by his brief and brave battle, resolved to ensure that future diagnoses of pancreatic cancer wouldn’t be the grim sentence that Michael’s was.  What began in a Highland Park living room as a small, community effort has grown into a formidable institution dedicated to eradicating pancreatic cancer, and supporting patients and their loves ones.

Today the Rolfe Foundation works towards accomplishing its goals powered by an executive staff, an engaged and energetic board and the passion of our numerous supporters.

The Rolfe Foundation has three primary goals:

  • Advance the development of early detection.  Just as there are early detection tests for prostate cancer, breast cancer and colon cancer, we support research that works to develop a similar diagnostic test for pancreatic cancer in its earliest stage, when it's most treatable.
  • Fund medical research at leading clinical and academic centers.  The number of scientific investigators with a demonstrated focus on pancreatic cancer is limited, relative to other cancers.  We raise money for top-tier research institutions that can attract more scientists dedicated to pancreatic cancer research.
  • Provide resources for pancreatic cancer patients and their loved ones.  It's not always easy to find information about pancreatic cancer. The Rolfe Foundation is a link to people and places for answers about this disease.
