In 2015, Rolling Hills Charter celebrates its 10 year anniversary. Here's what some of our parents have to say about who we are.
"We LOVE Rolling Hills! The atmosphere at this school is unbeatable! They teach kids responsibility, compassion and citizenship. This might not be something that can measured on a test, but we feel it's more valuable then anything else our kids could learn. My son is excelling academically, and loves learning. We couldn't be happier with the teachers or administration. Basically there is not enough room to describe how much we love Rolling Hills!"
"I could not ask for a better school for my children. Friendly environment fuels a higher degree of learning!!! When my children notice a difference not only in the level of education but with the overall friendly and safe surroundings, you know something is being accomplished effectively. I could not be happier with the school and the education provided."
The primary goal of our 2015 FUND-A-NEED Campaign is to raise funds for areas of the school which warrant our immediate attention. Meeting these needs means we can honor our commitment to each of our students.
Please help support the campaign of your choice with a 100% tax deductible donation to Rolling Hills Charter.
CLASSROOM COMPUTERS - Goal: $5000
Staff's dated computers need replaced and classrooms desire installation of a student use computer.
Computers and the Internet are a great resource for our classroom teachers! They can find suggestions, lesson plans, practical support, information, and materials through the Internet. In fact, using a computer can make a teacher's life easier and more efficient provided it functions consistently and doesn't become the 'problem child' in the classroom. Our teachers’ computers need to be updated for greater success in their mastery of classroom technology, including connecting with overhead projectors, use of document cameras, and turning classroom white boards into “smart boards”. Computers help to engage students in learning and teachers can use a variety of strategies with the technology to diversify instruction. The addition of internet machines such as Chromebooks are a way to get students more engaged with technology as they use them in teacher directed learning centers right in the classroom.
Science Lab Supplies - Goal: $1000
Help restore and improve our students’ hands-on science experience by resupplying and upgrading our lab kits.
These kits are great for discovery of life, earth, chemical, and physical science. Applied for all age levels K-8, when the kids get science in their hands, even greater learning takes place. The teachers can use the kits to teach "Scientific Inquiry" and let the students discovery for themselves the real science.
Tiger Center - Goal: $1000
Help upgrade the Tiger Center facilities.
Although we do serve 16% Special Education students daily in the Tiger center, this smaller one on one space for learning benefits all students at RHC.
Playground Upgrade - Goal: $2000
Help provide for our students’ wish-list of the Playground Upgrades they'd like to see at Rolling Hills.
There are some material needs for the safety of the existing playground equipment. Additions would consist or more tetherball poles, volleyball nets, playground balls and a sandpit (which can double for our track long jump pit), horizontal scaling rock wall, and paint for the asphalt lines. Whether it's maintaining the safety of our current environment or adding new supplies and equipment, it's time for a refresh.
