Since 1988, the family of any hospitalized or ill child receiving treatment at a Boise medical facility has found a home away from home at the Idaho Ronald McDonald House. Families come from across Idaho, Eastern Oregon, Northern Nevada and beyond. The 17 bedroom House serves hundreds of families each year who face many challenges with their sick child.

Families are stronger when they are together, which helps in the healing process. By staying at the Idaho Ronald McDonald House, parents can better communicate with their child's medical team and keep up with the complicated treatment plans when needed. They can focus on the health of their child, rather than grocery shopping, cleaning, or cooking meals. More than a house with four walls, this home provides extra hands, extra support and extra love for families with a seriously ill child.

Providing these families with a safe, supportive, welcoming place to stay is the reason the Ronald McDonald House exists. The staff, volunteers and Board of Directors help to meet basic needs and provide more than just the necessities. With the help of all the supporters of the House, families are provided shelter, food, support, and care.

For the past 28 years, the Idaho Ronald McDonald House has been keeping families close to each other and the medical care their children need. It is through the generosity of our community that this is possible.

We're honored to be a 2016 Regence BlueShield of Idaho Community Partner Organization.
