Ronald Mcdonald House Charities of the Red River Valley

A nonprofit organization

$3,315 raised by 32 donors

The Ronald McDonald House was born out of need – a need to families to be close to their critically-ill child without having to sleep on the floor, in their car or other less than suitable places. After 34 years in Fargo, we have begun to outgrow our family space and need to address the following concerns:

-        Accessibility Issues – Both Houses are multiple floors and there are no elevators to help our guests with mobility challenges.

-        Hospital Growth – With specialties being added to all or our medical facilities in town, Fargo has become a medical hub. With the relocation of Sanford Children’s Hospital to the new campus near I-94, our families will have long commutes to our two current facilities

-        Aging Facilities- As these facilities continue to age, the cost of maintenance continues to grow. In addition, we have seen many inefficiencies in providing two small versus one larger facility

-        Lack of Privacy- Our current Houses have only community bathrooms, which lack privacy and convenience.

We want to serve even more families and have been fundraising for a new house. We have been working with Foss Architecture & Interiors, Nor-Son, and our RMHC team to finalize the plans and construction documents for our new Ronald McDonald House.

We have plans for a new 24-bedroom, 26,000 square foot Ronald McDonald House to be strategically located near I-94 as a replacement of our two facilities.

With your help, we can provide much-needed space for our families as well as improve the experience families share as they find support and healing at RMHC. In addition to building, we are now focusing on reaching $5 million so our project is fully funded.
