Rotary Club of Erie Scholarship Foundation

A nonprofit organization

The Scholarship Foundation of the Rotary Club of Erie was created to administer scholarship funds to help assist young men and women to secure post-secondary education. These funds are also used to support programs that benefit children and youth.

Through the Foundation, worthy men and women who have completed their secondary education may acquire needed financial help in achieving education beyond high school.  Post-secondary education might otherwise be unattainable to them because of adverse economic circumstances. The Rotary Club of Erie members believe that financial aid to these young people constitutes a good investment by making them potential assets for the growth and health of our community and serves as a strong motivation for their development.

Programs and Services:

The Foundation currently awards five $3,000 scholarships to Erie public high school seniors who live in the City of Erie. Strong consideration is given based on financial need, family size, and family income.

In addition, The Rotary Club of Erie partners with Mercyhurst University annually to hold an Ethics Symposium each Spring.  This program offers high school juniors from Erie County a free one-day event focused on promoting thoughtful dialogue about what defines ethical behavior and choices.
