My name is Russell Reed Jr., founder of the Russell Reed Foundation, which helps women and children who have been challenged by some type of mental, physical, or sexual abuse. As a former Law Enforcement Officer working for two different Police Agencies for over twenty years, I have seen my share of abuse cases. Nothing could have prepared me for Ms. Estelle Good and her life story. When I met her in June of 1998 while working for a specific police agency, I experienced first-hand how women are affected by child and sexual abuse. Instead, of seeing at her as a problem, I saw her as a God ordained opportunity. Through motivational intervention, well-being awareness, and real life skills, Ms. Good is now following her dream.
The interaction with Ms. Good, prompted me to establish the "Russell Reed Foundation." In doing so, I am able to continue helping women and children by re-enforcing that they are not just victims but survivors and assist in their continuation of  living a normal  life. I am currently laying the foundation of a support system to work in conjunction with the currently overworked child abuse system. Ms. Good and I have relayed her story via television and radio media. It is my goal to continue my life helping others who may also have experienced some type of abuse. Abused children and adults must remember that they are survivors of some persons, abnormal behavior, and that they should seek the help necessary to understand and to cope with everyday living.
After establishing the Russell Reed Foundation in Akron, Ohio in 2009 on a financial shoestring, I immediately noticed the need for women and children to have their very own personal computer. So, armed with just an idea I set forth on my journey helping a woman or a child one desktop computer or laptop at a time. I traveled to any Goodwill, Salvation Army, and Thrift Store I could find to purchase computers, laptops and printers. I taught myself to repair them and installed the proper software on each device. In doing so, I was able to donate nearly 100 computers/laptops to the community.
Now, in 2015 the Russell Reed Foundation moved to Clearwater/St. Petersburg, Florida. Our mission is to nurture a new image of   self-confidence, hope and well-being and to encourage aspirations for a better future by creating bonds through communication, better understanding and educational endeavors.
Only through the grace of God I have met some wonderful people in Clearwater/Saint Petersburg, Florida like Congressman David W. Jolly and his Father.
