S T a R Ranch

2007 found us in NC planning to retire.  With a license in real estate i found back roads that took me to unbelievable animal situations.  My husband and i made the decision not to 'retire'.  We purchased 10 acres with a  repairable barn, built a 3 bedroom shelter home w garage and deeded it all to the new corporation, STAR (save the animals rescue) Ranch.  Once up and running it was clear on any given rescue that not just the horse was in trouble. So, space was made for 5 goats, 40 cats (living the good life in and out of a warm barn with special rooms for more needy and declawed victims) as well as 30 dogs living in the STAR shelter home with run outs and 'home' environment....no cages. Challenged youth and adults, groups and community service hour folks visit STAR for hands on work and education about animal care. equing riding therapy is amazing for many.  We have NO paid staff or employees.  All $ goes to the program.
