To provide domestic violence survivors and their children with services that enhance and increase their safety.

Safe Harbor was established in 1991 and is the state and federally recognized domestic violence program providing safe, free, and confidential services to survivors and their children in St. Tammany and Washington Parishes. Safe Harbor offers emergency shelter, danger assessment, safety planning, court advocacy, and children's services that are designed to provide victims with options to enhance and increase safety for their families. Our trained staff and volunteers work with victims and their children to help them heal from abuse.

Adult services include: emergency shelter, safety planning, assistance with protective orders, support groups, and advocacy.

Children's services include; safety planning, children's groups, teaching non-violent conflict resolution skills, age appropriate health relationship skills, and summer enrichment programs.

Our vision: We envision a community in which all family members are safe in their homes.

Testimonials

Survivor - Safe Harbor has supported me and my children and helped us to heal. Your program has been a life-saver.
Survivor - Being a survivor at Safe Harbor has changed my life for the better!
Survivor - As a male survivor I felt shame from the stigma attached to disclosing that I was a survivor of abuse. I felt welcomed into the program with understanding and compassion and I felt a sense of validation from the advocates who took time to listen to my story without judgment.
