SBP

A nonprofit organization

SBP was founded in St. Bernard Parish after Hurricane Katrina, when a small group of volunteers came together to help families rebuild. 20 years later, that mission is stronger than ever.

Today, SBP is a national leader in disaster recovery and resilience, but New Orleans is still home. Every day, we work with families across Southeast Louisiana to rebuild homes, strengthen neighborhoods, and prepare for what’s next.

Your support on GiveNOLA Day helps power this work across the following key areas:

  • Long-Term Rebuilding: Helping families impacted by hurricanes like Katrina and Ida return to safer homes, prioritizing seniors, veterans, and low-income households

  • Immediate Recovery Services: Deploying teams to tarp roofs, muck and gut flooded homes, and remove debris after a storm

  • Resilience: Providing tools, training, and resources so families can better prepare for the next disaster, including FORTIFIED roofs

When you give to SBP, you’re not just helping rebuild homes. You’re investing in a more resilient New Orleans.
