Who Are We?

When people think of Scottsdale, many automatically think to our outstanding homes and businesses, or the natural beauty that surrounds them. But this is not the case for everyone who lives in the city. Almost 6,000 students in our publics schools qualify for free and reduced meals. We have seen a 36% increase in unhoused individuals in just 2 years. By acknowledging our community's abundance, many often overlook those who are experiencing poverty.

Scottsdale Community Partners (SCP) provides citywide assistance and relief to the residents of Scottsdale. Through our work with and funding of local social service programs, we have been able to provide support to three primary populations living in poverty within Scottsdale: Youth, Families, and Seniors/Adults with Disabilities. All participants are screened by social workers within the community as living below defined poverty guidelines, ensuring our programs and services are reaching those who truly need assistance. With ten different programs, and more being developed every day, we are in need of funding from our community.

Our Youth Programs

  • Healthy Packs: A weekend food supplementation for students in the Scottsdale Unified School District that are living with food insecurity within their homes. Students are provided with meals that are both approved by a nutritionist and are easy to cook.
  • Back-to-School: An annual single-day summer event that provides clothing, shoes, school supplies, backpacks, health screenings, and a hot meal to over 1,000 Scottsdale students a year who are in low income households.

Our Family Programs

  • Vista del Camino Food Bank: Low income or unhoused families can visit our Food Bank at the Vista del Camino Community Center. We provide boxes of fresh food with the help of a team of volunteers and dedicated city employees. We are also beginning to expand to a second facility located on McKellips.
  • Emergency Assistance: Through local community centers around the city, we provide help to families or individuals in need with both rental fees and utility fees.
  • Adopt-A-Family Thanksgiving & Holiday: Through our annual Adopt-a-Family programs, sponsors can "adopt" a family, providing food to families during the Thanksgiving season, and gifts to families during the holiday season.
  • Homeless Services: In partnership with the City of Scottsdale, we fund food assistance programs and facilities to ensure unsheltered individuals have a safe and comfortable place to spend time, and fresh food to eat.
  • Pet Pantry: In tandem with our Vista del Camino Food Bank, we provide our animal friends with both wet and dry food.

Our Senior & Adults with Disabilities Programs

  • Brown Bag Program: A weekly food supplementation program that provides nutritious meals and snacks to people in our community who demonstrate need.
  • Beat the Heat: An annual summer program in collaboration with City of Scottsdale social workers, which provides in-home assessments of at-risk citizens in a particularly vulnerable time of year in the Arizona heat.
  • Adopt-A-Senior Thanksgiving & Holiday: Through our annual Adopt-a-Seniors programs, sponsors can "adopt" a senior, providing food to their senior during the Thanksgiving season, and gifts to their senior during the holiday season.

In addition to monetary donations, one of the most important things you can do as a community member is donate your time. Whether your business wants to help sponsor a family, or you wish to volunteer at our Food Bank. Please consider a donation today.
