Our Mission
The mission of Sex, Drugs, & God, Inc. is to build relationships and bonds of trust with anyone who struggles with addiction, giving them hope for recovery. Utilizing its proprietary process of consistent engagements, structured expectations and accountability reviews, Sex, Drugs & God Inc. is able to reach anyone ready to surrender their lives to a Higher Power, A God of their understanding, and change their life for the better.
Sex, Drugs & God, Inc. (SDG) was created to help those struggling with either their addiction or their recovery, within the Rappahannock-Rapidan region. SDG is the only organization in the region that provides FREE CERTIFIED PEER RECOVERY SPECIALIST COACHING. Additionally, SDG does not discriminate or limit its services to individuals based on age, race, religion, gender, or any other socio-economic factor. SDG makes addiction recovery coaching available to anyone in the area looking for help to find recovery.
Peer Recovery Coaching is a proven evidence-based, solutions-driven approach. At SDG, through peer recovery coaching, we are committed to reducing drug addiction and its effects and costs on not only those addicted, but their families, and the community at large. By modeling our lives in recovery, we help clients find healthy replacements for their current addiction. We also help our clients find and access community resources that are available to help them transition back into a life of normalcy. Many in recovery need to learn some of the most basic life functions that many of us take for granted: Eating Healthy, Exercise, Budgeting, Regular Social Interactions... are just of few of the life-affirming and life-improving services we provide.
Since we began in 2017, SDG has been able to mentor, guide, coach, and help over 190 individuals find their personal pathway to a life of recovery (and even a few to a life of restoration and salvation in Christ). Many of you know my story and struggle with addiction and mental health. How in 2013, due to a traumatic brain injury, my life took a dark turn into depression and forced sobriety. How after an unexpected rapid spiral and a failed suicide attempt, four years of counseling, mentoring from Christian brothers, amazing support from my wife and family; my life was reborn, and SDG was created.
SDG was the first and only, free Certified Peer Recovery Support in the region and still is today. Because of the generous support of local foundations, businesses, and individuals, we are proud to have been able to provide over $155,000 dollars in direct and indirect client support to people seeking a life of recovery. Whether it was facility scholarships, vehicle repairs, vehicle donations and grants, rent, groceries, fuel, meals, etc.; SDG has consistently been there to help our community whenever we were able. Now, as our world and community tackle a new focus of issues, SDG will continue to focus on supporting individuals seeking recovery. Individuals who otherwise may have no hope due to a lack of resources or transportation. Individuals, often discarded by our community because of stigma and superficial judgement.
I am humbled by the opportunity given to me by our local foundations, businesses, and individuals; to support anyone seeking help in their recovery journey. I am grateful for all the encouragement and support of my wife, family, YARN group, and anyone who has been a part of this journey. We are not done! We will continue to do what we do best, and I ask that you continue to help support SDG however you can.
Thank you for your support of Sex, Drugs & God, Inc. over the past 5 years. It has meant more to me and those I am privileged to help, than you’ll ever know. I hope you will continue to support the only and much needed, free Certified Peer Recovery Support program in the region.
