Southeast La Underwater Search and Recovery 501c3

A nonprofit organization

Our Mission is to search for and recover missing persons and objects (in water) in and around Southeast Louisiana and beyond. We raise awareness and educate the public regarding missing persons and objects where water is involved. We educate and provide the tools necessary to individuals and organizations that search for and recover missing persons and objects in water. We develop, foster, and maintain a network of like-minded individuals and organizations both private and public.

I am the founder and sole operator of SELAUSAR. I build my team using the men and women of law enforcement who request my services. From 2013-2019 I worked out of pocket on a policeman's salary, then retirement. In 2019 I created a non profit, SELAUSAR. I have created partnerships with the USCG, NOPD, JPSO, LADWLF and so many other organizations. I have recently been recognized by the USCG and Volunteer Louisiana (Lt Governor's office) for work done in this field. Since October 2017 I have facilitated training for public safety divers and sonar operators in the metro Orleans area. In 2020 I put a team together to locate and recover a missing spearfisherman in the Gulf of Mexico near an oil rig. He was located and recovered in 225' of water. 2 Months later I recovered a man in Lewis Smith Lake Alabama who was in an underwater forest in 90' of water. He had been missing for 45 days. In 2013 teacher Terrilynn Monette was missing for 98 days. I located her in bayou St John. I am the only organization in our area that does this and there is little financial support due to my mission and the parameters of most grants. Your support is greatly appreciated. I go when called.
