SIAMS, Surely I Am My SIster

A nonprofit organization

SIAMS mission is to uplift and support women in education, business, and leadership.

SIAMS aims to continue our efforts to expose high school senior girls and college freshman girls on campus to their aspiring professions. We provide professional development and career readiness resources to marginalized high school seniors and college freshmen. SIAMS focuses on preparing these young women to transition from education to professional careers by providing mentorship and skill-building opportunities. We aim to remove barriers to success, particularly for first-generation college students, empowering them to graduate and become future leaders. Our mentorship model allows the girls to develop an understanding of their career choices and explore options in the field. This year they will have access to our entire network of mentors. All SIAMS mentors have bachelor's degrees. 85% of our mentors have Master's degrees and several hold Professional and Doctoral degrees. 70% of our mentors have their own businesses in addition to their professional careers.

Testimonials

"As a mentor, I was prepared to give back and provide resources to support my mentee's journey as she prepares to transition to college. I didn't know I would learn so much from her and that my eyes would be enlightened to the wisdom of her generation. I came to make an impact but she has made a great impact on me as well." Ms. Pat

"I am so grateful for the opportunity to be in the mentoring program. I knew when I saw the mentors, they were women I would learn from. This experience has been a positive light in my life. It has made me look at my choices and I want more because I know I deserve more and a better life. I'm using the emotional awareness tools and I'm growing more" Mal
