Our mission is to rescue Great Danes from neglect, abuse, and abandonment, providing them with essential medical care and personalized rehabilitation through our dedicated and compassionate foster home program. We are committed to placing each rescued Dane in a qualified, loving, and permanent home where they can enjoy the quality of life they truly deserve.

Founded in 2013, Save Rocky the Great Dane Rescue and Rehab is a nationwide, volunteer-driven organization dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and rehoming Great Danes in need. Inspired by Rocky, a Great Dane who was euthanized despite efforts to save him, our mission is clear: "Save One Until There Are None."

Over the past 11 years, our team has saved more than 8,500 Great Danes, providing them with the care and second chances they deserve. Today, we have nearly 200 Great Danes in our program, each receiving individualized attention.

Our Team and Operations

Save Rocky operates with over 70 volunteers, administrators, and directors. Our team includes foster families, transport coordinators, medical professionals, and behavioral specialists. We also manage our own transport department, ensuring dogs can be safely relocated across the U.S., Canada, and even Hawaii.

Our foster homes are the heart of our organization. These families provide care, helping dogs heal and prepare for adoption. Fostering allows us to assess each dog's temperament and needs to ensure the best match with adoptive families.
