Step Up Aim High Inc.

A nonprofit organization

The mission of The Step Up Aim High nonprofit organization is to enhance the quality of life for underserved children and their parents within the Greater New Orleans metropolitan community. This is achieved through the provision of meals and various educational, financial, and career resources.

The Step Up Aim High nonprofit was birthed in 2018 and officially formulated in 2020 to provide scholarships to high school marching band seniors in the Greater New Orleans area who exhibited outstanding musical and academic achievement. Since our inception, we have successfully raised and awarded over $8,000 in scholarships to 8 students and their families.

In 2024, the organization's vision expanded in an effort to provide more than just scholarships to students but invaluable resources, workshops and training for at-risk youth and underserved families and communities. In addition, we offer auto mechanic vocational training for students, career fairs, community feeding fairs, and mental health screenings.

Testimonials

"Our son Terrence had a music scholarship to Miles College but still had to pay band fees, dorm fees, uniform fees and a food budget. The $1,000 SUAH Scholarship came just in time and helped our family out tremendously.

Nikita Murphy, parent of Terrence Murphy, 2018 SUAH Scholarship Recipient

"In a city where not everybody helps each other, it is a dream come true for Step Up Aim High to help young Black students like myself to pursue their dreams."

Isaiah Farria, 2019 SUAH Scholarship recipient
