Relationships are key. Volunteers meet with neighbors in their homes, whenever possible. Neighbors tell us their story within the personal space of their home and neighborhood. Volunteers more fully assess their needs and discuss how we can help. Mutual genuineness and vulnerability build trusting relationships. Immediate assistance is provided. The ongoing development of the relationship then investments time, energy, and resources into our neighbors so they can sustain efforts towards personal empowerment and increased self-sufficiency.
