SAC is a grassroots organization devoted to promoting educational, civic, economic, and human development, as well as advancing civil liberties and human dignity in Syria. It also aspires to build bridges of understanding and cooperation between American and Syrian people and institutions.

SAC was founded on November 20, 2005, in Burr Ridge, Illinois. The founding meeting was attended by representatives from Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and California. SAC’s president and Council of Representatives (COR) were elected during that meeting.

To be recognized as a leading organization for the empowerment of Syria Americans to promote educational, civic, economic, and human development, as well as supporting civil liberties and human dignity in Syria.

Mission

  1. Support human rights, civil liberties, and democracy for all people of Syria
  2. Promote friendly relations between the peoples of Syria and the United States
  3. Encourage international cooperation based on international laws and justice
