The Woodland Train Depot is part of the Sacramento Valley Historical Railways, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the railroad history of the Sacramento Valley.  It is comprised of volunteers from varied backgrounds united by a common interest in railroading and railroad history.

Currently, we need funds to paint our beloved Southern Pacific steam locomotive 1233.  This locomotive was built in 1918, by the Baldwin Locomotive Works and saw service with the SP in the Oakland Bay Area, Tracy, and Los Angeles.  After being taken out of service, it was donated by the SP and arrived in Woodland in 1957.  For many years it was displayed at the Yolo County Fairgrounds where it slowly deteriorated.  However, in 1982, dedicated volunteers from what would become the Sacramento Valley Historical Railways began restoring this locomotive and eventually leased it for service on a tourist railroad in Yolo County.  It is now on display at the Woodland Train Depot, and we need your help to continue its maintenance and preservation.
