ABOUT US

Safe Haven Foster Shoppe is a tax-exempt 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that provides essentials to children in foster care in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. Our goal is to provide essential items for foster children and alleviate the financial burden on foster home. Our services include a variety of placement bags or packs to provide 1 day to 1 weeks worth of essentials (clothing, socks, underwear, toiletries, blankets, coats, shoes, etc).

OUR STORY

Every day, Safe Haven Foster Shoppe volunteers deliver items directly into the hands of children in foster care. It is amazing the difference simple items of “their own” can help a child through a very difficult transition time. From a newborn going to a new family needing a diaper bag and baby book; to a teen needing clothing and personal items to protect their modesty in a new home… Every child is different. Every child has a story! Every child has specific needs!  Every child is special :)

 WHAT MAKES SAFE HAVEN DIFFERENT?

● SHFS is a 501(c)3 Not-for-profit professional organization. Many small foster closets that pop up in local communities; all with the best of intentions, but SHFS is a professional organization managed by a Board of volunteer business professionals and an Executive Director. The foster care system has many challenges, and they need resources they can count on. We provide that stability, and professionalism.

● Our services are provided directly into the hands of children when they need it. Our program can NOT be abused; nor do we stuff donations into a basement or closet of a social services office; and not know they are being used. We work hand-in-hand with county and agency workers to provide items to children in need, and never for anyone’s personal benefit.

● Because we are a legal non-profit organization; we track, and measure all donations (in-kind or financial) and provide tax statements/letters to all SHFS Sponsors, Supporters and Donors.

We partner with local businesses to support our communities and join us in our mission to help children in Foster care. These donations allow us to provide these items, deliver the bags promptly and maintain a professional organization foster homes can count on from today into the future.  We need your support!
