Safe Horizon's mission is to provide support, prevent violence, and promote justice for victims of crime and abuse, their families and communities.

Programs

Safe Horizon is the nation's leading victim assistance, advocacy, and violence prevention organization with 80 programs operating in all five boroughs of New York. Safe Horizon's 24-hour telephone hotlines are a gateway to resources and services for victims of domestic violence, child abuse, and sexual assault. Our programs in community offices, courts, police precincts, and schools help over 350,000 New Yorkers every year, and we are the country's largest provider of domestic violence shelters, offering both emergency shelter and transitional housing. Other services include mediation, youth anti-violence programs, emergency lock replacement, counseling for torture survivors from abroad, court advocacy, and many more.
