Core Values
Faith, Hope, Love, Service, Respect, Responsibility, Resourcefulness.
Founded in 2001, Salem Salem Square Community Association(SSCA) has been motivated to impact the lives of residents in the Salem Square community. Despite a rough transition Salem Square is back and better than ever. Chaired By U.S. Air Force officer Benton Jackson and Vice President Sandra Harrison the organization is well on its way to major impact. SSCA has been able to recently reacquire access to the Salem Square Library. This location is a staple being that it was for a long time a local bar named Guss's that brought alot of violence to the noted "600 block" of West Princess street. This location will serve as an information and development hub to the Salem Square community. In partnership with The Innovations Factory we have launched an entrepreneur series for the community to inspire more urban entrepreneurialism. We have arranged for counseling, work force development and training's to all happen out of this location. In addition we are proud to announce that this year we are also helping to raise money for the local bike organization Pedal 4 Peace USA. This program has helped youth all over the world through bikes and biking activities. We are proud to say they are part of the Salem Square Community Association family. However, we all know that finance is function. Without your help and proper resources it is very hard to keep consistent efforts happening. Change takes time and that takes all of our help to ensure that we are building a better tomorrow. SSCA is looking to raise money to help pay for the resources necessary to launch and sustain programs for the better development of the Salem Square community. Our goal is to raise 10 thousand dollars to help support our community programs and initiatives. #SalemSquare
