Salt Lake Arts Academy

On May 2, 2024 we have another BIG opportunity for our little charter school, and we hope you will be part of it! On the SLArts 24 Day of Giving, your donation will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $20,000 -- doubling your impact on our students, teachers and programs. Since the 2003-2004 school year, Salt Lake Arts Academy has been Building Creative Minds, weaving the Arts into the public school Core Curriculum in a way that excites and engages 10-14 year olds.  We opened with 110 students, and have held school all over town -- literally! We had THREE temporary homes before settling at 844 S. 200 East, and have added on to our school building TWICE since 2006. Many of our Teachers have been with us since those early days, and thousands of families have entrusted their students to SLArts. Today, 20 years later, we serve 416 students from families across our valley. Our community remains strong and connected thanks to our shared values about what a public middle school can be!

Your donations to Salt Lake Arts Academy during the SLArts 24 supports scholarships for the 8th Grade Teton Science School trip, buys technology and equipment for our digital natives in their classrooms, and supports salaries and supplies for our unique daily Arts Education program.

Our program is unlike any other public middle school in our state -- but as a Charter School we receive less public funding than traditional public schools.  In fact, we receive about $500 less in public funding, per student, compared to traditional public schools in Salt Lake City. 

Our students learn creative practices and habits of mind that help them become problem-solving, collaborative leaders...ready for the challenges that face them in high school and beyond.  The skills our students develop at Salt Lake Arts Academy lead to joyful learning and academic achievement.
