SALT LAKE SCHOOL
FOR THE PERFORMING ARTS
"Art Under Pressure"

Voted Utah’s Best Charter School in 2013, 2014 and 2015 and also received the distiguished BOS (Best of State) Statue in 2015 in the education category!

Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts (SLSPA) is Utah’s premiere public performing arts high school ( grades 9-12) and is celebrating its 11th year anniversary in 2017.

SLSPA is chartered by the Salt Lake City School District and partners with Highland High School (HHS). SLSPA students have the best of two educational worlds; high-level performing arts and media art classes taught by talented working artists, and a full range of traditional core classes through HHS including Honors, AP, and concurrent enrollment classes.

SLSPA seeks to instill in its students the life skills of creativity, confidence, collaboration, communication and leadership.  Faculty, staff and administration encourage self-expression, nurture self-esteem, and challenge the imagination.  SLSPA offers a unique performing and media arts curriculum focused on the individual student.

There are no auditions and no tuition to attend SLSPA. Students at SLSPA are a diverse community of learners and artists coming from many areas of Salt Lake, Utah, Davis, Weber, Wasatch, and Tooele counties.

*SLSPA had 100 percent graduation rate in 2016 and received well over 2 million dollars in scholarship offers collectively.

We need parental involvement and community support to continue to provide our students with the quality education we all want for our children and to ensure they will become productive, contributing members of society in the future.

Currently SLSPA has 3 dance studios, dance and music performance spaces, music rooms, a piano lab, theatre lab, and a black box theatre.  We are in great need of all the following, which can only be purchased through your generosity:

Equipment and instruments for our Rock Band Program

Replacement instruments for Orchestra
New Marley for the dance floors
Professional sound system for choir and traveling music
New space for tech theatre shop plus equipment

Is it possible to put a price tag on your child’s education and the benefits your child receives as part of the Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts?

Please consider for a moment the money you’re saving by not having to pay tuition for your child’s performing and visual arts classes.

Your tax-deductible donation helps our students and benefits  Utah’s cultural, social and economic health.  The students, faculty, staff, PTO, and Board of Trustees thank you for your financial contribution to our growth with a donation to SLSPA and for your generosity and support of the arts and education.
