Samaritan’s Feet serves and inspires hope in people

Twenty years ago, God placed a dream on the heart of our founder, Manny Ohonme, to impact the lives of impoverished people all around the world. Through the partnership and generosity of world class leaders and organizations, we have been able to provide shoes while inspiring the lives of over 10 million people, in 109 countries, and over 600 cities within the United States. 

 But our task is far from over. Millions of people are still left to be served, and we are steadfast in our commitment to meet that need. Additionally, Samaritan’s Feet has expanded our efforts to reach other underserved populations whose numbers are growing, and who also face issues of health and dignity such as our aging population. 

 As we enter our 21st year, our goal is to serve 1.1 million people in 2024. We have a huge task at hand but through the support of amazing partners, we know we can reach that goal.

 Never has it been more critical to provide for and respect vulnerable children, adults, and seniors; by providing shoes as the foundation to a spiritual and healthy life resulting in the advancement of education and economic opportunities.

Why Shoes?

Over 30 years ago, a young Nigerian boy, Manny Ohonme, received his first pair of shoes at the age of nine. It changed his life and now he wants to give others that same opportunity for change and impact. Samaritan’s Feet wants to inspire hope through the gift of shoes, the act of washing feet, and encouragement to those who need it most. Samaritan’s Feet believes that a new pair of shoes and the act of foot-washing can:

 Provide a tangible foundation of hope and the opportunity for a better life. 

Prompt children to focus in school and families not to worry.

Protect feet and decrease the possibility of getting a foot-borne disease.

Samaritan’s Feet is creating a servant leadership legacy around the world by engaging people of all backgrounds to serve their fellow man as a symbol of shared humanity. One City: Samaritan’s Feet has identified communities throughout the United States and has designated those cities to expand Samaritan’s Feet’s footprint. These One City designations will not only focus on the distribution of shoes, but also on bringing neighbors, religious leaders, community influencers, and public service personnel together to inspire empathy and unity. One City events will serve 4,000 children, adults, and seniors. Samaritan’s Feet wishes to expand our footprint in your city and bring hope and dignity to the community and those in need with a gift of Shoes.
