San Antonio Amputee Foundation:
Empowering & Inspiring Since 1997

For almost 30 years, the San Antonio Amputee Foundation (SAAF) has been a source of hope, strength, and community for those living with limb loss and limb difference. Founded by Mona Patel, who turned her personal challenge into a lifelong mission, we have grown into one of the largest and most active amputee support networks in the country.

Our mission is simple yet powerful: to empower and inspire amputees to live to their fullest potential. We accomplish this by providing:

  • 1:1 Peer Support – compassionate connection for new amputees navigating their journey.

  • Monthly Support Group – the largest and most consistent gathering of amputees in the nation, fostering community, mentorship, and encouragement.

  • Case Management & Social Services – guidance and advocacy to help amputees access critical resources and overcome barriers.

  • Adaptive Sports & Fitness – opportunities to thrive through movement, wellness, and recreation.

  • Socialization & Volunteerism – creating a sense of belonging, purpose, and giving back to the community.

Your gift on this Giving Day will directly support amputees in finding strength, building resilience, and reclaiming independence. Together, we can continue to change lives—one step at a time.

💙 Join us in empowering amputees today.  Every dollar helps amputees in our community know they are not alone. Every donation makes a difference. Thank you! xo
