San Antonio Independent Living Services

San Antonio Independent living Services (SAILS) has been serving persons with significant disabilities for nearly 44 years. Staff helps with independent living skills, information and referrals, advocacy and peer support in our Base Independent Living Program. We also provide emergency utility assistance when we receive additional funds. Staff are able to provide hundreds of people with durable medical equipment and related services in our Outsourcing Program (Purchased Services). SAILS receives funds from Texas Health and Human Services for these services. The need is much greater though and many are on a wait list. 

The summer months are coming and there is always a great need to help people with their utility bills. SAILS will utilize a minimum of 50% of our funds raised from the BIG Give 2025 to help those in need.
