About the Alliance
We promote cross-sector collaboration among individuals and organizations from the nonprofit, government, philanthropic, and business sectors to create impactful and lasting change in the food system. We influence policy by leveraging our network to inform and advance equitable food system policies. We catalyze transformation by increasing community-level awareness, engagement, and programming in the food system. We provide education, organize community events, and offer capacity-building programs and services to create transformative change across the food system.
Our Vision
We envision vibrant community food systems rooted in justice and sustainability, where everyone has equitable opportunity to produce, distribute, prepare, serve, and eat nutritional and culturally appropriate food.
In our vision, producers and food workers are treated fairly, sustainable and regenerative practices are prioritized, people are engaged, communities are empowered, and farms, fisheries, and food businesses are thriving and contributing to local economies.

The Annual Gathering is a yearly convening of food systems workers, community leaders, philanthropists, elected officials, small businesses and corporations to come together around the community-led plan and movement. The Annual Gathering offers opportunities for connection and collaboration and provides space for critical thinking in a group setting. We are currently fundraising to close the gap on our fundraising goal for the event.
