San Diego Oasis

San Diego Oasis, an award-winning nonprofit organization, is on a mission to change the way people experience aging by pursuing vibrant, healthy, productive and meaningful lives through education, fitness, and community service. The community-based organization hosts over 6,000 in-person and online workshops annually at their La Mesa and Rancho Bernardo locations and over 30 off-site locations throughout San Diego County. The nonprofit’s Intergenerational Literacy Tutoring Program matches an older adult in the life of an at-risk, low-income student in grades K-4. Their Bridging the Digital Divide Program brings technology to seniors in need through a free tablet, training, classes and internet. Their two centers, located in La Mesa’s Grossmont Center and in Rancho Bernardo, are an exemplary model of engagement for people age 50 and better.
