Now celebrating its 48th year, CMT San Jose is a nationally acclaimed youth theater and the oldest performing arts organization in Silicon Valley. Casting all who audition, and ensuring no child is ever turned away due to financial or physical limitations, CMT is committed to reflecting its diverse community through fully accessible, affordable and impactful programming.

Founded in 1968 to meet a need for community-based children’s theater, CMT has grown to bcome one of the most respected local arts organiziations, producing 10 full scale musical productions each season. Often the first regional theater company to produce new work, straight from Broadway, CMT has had the honor to mount challenging work not usually connected to a childrens theater including American Idiot, Rent, The Who's Tommy, Miss Saigon, and Elton John and Tim Rice's Aida. Each theaterical experience broadens the minds and talents of our young performers and attracts new audiences of all ages.

CMT's education outreach program reaches more than 8000 students annually, many of them from underserved community and experinecing live theater for the first time.
