Our Mission

The mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills is to inspire, enable and educate young people from all backgrounds and circumstances to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens

From games and athletics to drug prevention workshops, Boys & Girls Club of the Sandhills offers young people a range of fun and productive activities. Three Clubs, two in Southern Pines and one in Aberdeen, are open each day after school from 2:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. – when research has shown children to be most vulnerable to gangs, violence and other risky behaviors. In the summer, Clubs and special summer-only sites open their doors all day to young people with nowhere else to go.

Inspire, enable and educate young people from all backgrounds and circumstances to realize their full potential as responsible, productive and caring citizens.

Serving this many young people in our community would not be possible without the tremendous dedication of Board members, volunteers, staff, and wonderful partner agencies in our community.

Background
The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills has actively sought to enrich the lives of girls and boys that other youth agencies fail to reach.  Boys & Girls Club is dedicated to ensuring that our community's disadvantaged youngsters have greater access to quality programs and services that will enhance their lives and shape their futures as productive citizens. Since 1999, we have provided children with a positive place to go, results-oriented programming and a professional staff to guide them.

Last year, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills served more than 1025 young people through its Clubs, summer sites and outreach programs.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills obtains funding for its programs through donations from civic organizations, individuals, Corporations, federal, state and local grants, the United way, membership fees and various fundraising activities. The cost of providing services to a member for a year is $879.97, but in order to serve effectively those who need us most, Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sandhills asks families to pay annual membership dues of only $35 per child and no child is turned away due to inability to pay.
