San Diego Guild of Puppetry

We are a local, growing, and active arts organization dedicated to building a permanent place for puppetry in San Diego. We formed originally in 1957 as an informal, primarily social group to serve local puppeteers, but over the years, our mission grew. Since officially becoming a non-profit corporation in February 1994, we have become a collaborative core of professional performers, teaching artists, dedicated volunteers, and fans who love and support the puppetry arts. We are determined to grow the art form we love and the services we offer, for the benefit of the community we serve. To this end, we create shows for all ages, teach pre-schoolers through senior citizens, train interns, present acclaimed guest artists, organize small conferences, mount exhibits and giant puppet parade pageants, and a wide variety of special events, often in collaboration with other arts organizations.
