The Sanger Center is a Christian faith-based outreach agency whose primary mission is to serve the needs of marginalized and forgotten people while promoting social justice, biblical compassion, and solidarity with the hungry, the hurting and the homeless poor.  Put simply, the Sanger Center mission is "to advance a culture of compassion."

The Sanger Center directs the Quincy Crisis Center (QCC) and Mary-Martha Learning Center (MMLC). By coordinating volunteers and partnering with existing agencies, we serve the needs of South Shore communities.

Quincy Crisis Center exists to help people in time of crisis survive their present turmoil and return to independent living. QCC conducts a number of programs aimed at people at risk across the South Shore.  QCC services are received through the Quincy Crisis Hotline which also provides crisis counseling, information and referrals. Emergency food assistance is provided through the Food for Families “food pantry-on-wheels” and a Help for the Holidays program.

The goal of the Quincy Crisis Hotline is to provide a compassionate confidential response by competent caring crisis counselors to every hotline caller through crisis counseling, referral information, case management and/or direct services.

The goal of the Food for Families program is to provide emergency food assistance through deliveries to those unable to access traditional food pantry services.

Mary-Martha Learning Center (MMLC) exists to empower homeless families, especially young single mothers and their children, to realize their potential for growth in mind, body, and spirit and to transition to stable housing. MMLC provides direct services to homeless families presently housed by the state in local hotels; services include food deliveries, material assistance, crisis counseling and training.  MMLC also assists families in their transition out of homelessness and into permanent housing in partnership with other agencies and churches.  MMLC provides technical support and resources to the network of agencies serving homeless families in our service area.
