Why Do The Arts Matter?
"Although America's art and culture is recognized the world over, and our creative industries represent billions of dollars of economic activity, the majority of artists and arts organizations in the U.S. are underfunded and undercapitalized. Most alarmingly, the arts have been increasingly eliminated from public schools, resulting in generations of American children who have not had access to the transformative and life-affirming power of the arts, and have not been provided with the creative skill set needed to compete in a global economy." - Stand For the Arts - Ovationtv.com

The Santa Cruz Valley Art Association was established in the 1960's by a group of artists that help define Tubac as "A Place Where Art & History Meet".  They wanted a space to show their art and in 1971 they broke ground on donated land and the Tubac Center of the Arts was dedicated on October 21, 1972.

Tubac Center of the Arts, (TCA) is a pillar of the community in Tubac providing nationally juried exhibits, a widely received performing arts series, workshops for artists, a summer arts education program for children, a special art exhibit for local high school students and also offers opportunites for artists to exhibit and sell their work.

TCA is a small staffed non-profit with a large volunteer base that helps make everything happen; from hanging exhibitions, greeting visitors, managing the gift shop, and assisting with special events.

Funds raised through this online giving platform provide direct support to programs presented by Tubac Center of the Arts. Please join us in delivering quality artistic and innovative arts programming to residents and visitors in the Santa Cruz Valley.
